  * Creating Space * 2022 * In the practice of Nia we ‘Create the Space’ in our trainings, meetings and sometimes before class. It is a mindfulness practice that allows us to eliminate distractions. I am now choosing to enter a time where I will create the space for an extended period of time for myself personally & for my family - within the year of 2022. Creating space will also allow me to remove unnecessary distractions and allow for clarity so that I can actualize my life and living anew. By giving myself and my family time to rest, reflect and renew I will be in a better space to offer classes, workshops and individual sessions when the time is right in the future. Thank you for your understanding and patience through this space. I may still share some words and images of inspiration and healing on my business FB pages from time to time if the feeling takes me. In practical terms individual sessions finished on Thursday 2nd December 2021. My last online Nia class was on Wedne

New possibilities – how do we create or attract them into our lives?

So many of us are longing for change – a better job, more money, greater relationships etc but we keep on doing the same things and wonder why nothing changes for us. As we all know that is the TRUE definition of insanity but we still don’t know how to change this!! W hy is that?   We can’t create something new from the same energetic space that we have created our current reality. If our point of view creates our reality (as taught by Gary Douglas and Dain Heer – Access Consciousness.com) then we have to change our thinking and our point of view FIRST before we can choose a different reality or to create something NEW in our lives.  Woah! So how do you do that? Simple, start working with any tools and techniques that help change your mindset, your constant thought pattern and your points of view. I said simple right? But so many of us still don’t know how to do that – Ok so let me explain in a little more detail – now you are interested!? I give you some examples from my

What are you gaining from your injury or trauma?

Sometimes injuries and past traumas don’t heal or resolve themselves no matter what healing or therapy we try. Why does that happen? What is getting in the way of this healing? Is it because you are gaining something, subconsciously from this injury or situation? I’ll share with you a recent example from my own life. Last Christmas Day I stepped off my brother-in-law’s deck into a large hollow in the lawn and badly rolled my ankle. It was so bad that I went and had x-rays taken just to make sure it wasn’t broken. Luckily for me it was just a very bad sprain and not a fracture. It took a LONG time to heal even with physiotherapy which did help immensely it was still not completely healed 8 weeks after the initial injury. Having this injury had impacted on mine and my families entire summer holiday. A lot of times I didn’t want to do things I would normally do because my ankle hurt, or I was worried about re-injuring it. It wasn’t until after my Physiotherapist had given me the al

Treating PTSD in first responders with EFT

First responders are always first on the scene in case of emergencies which includes police, firefighters, ambulance officers, paramedics, nurses and doctors and also the general public. These can be traumatic experiences for all involved including the victim and the victim’s family too. How can we help first responders deal with the daily exposure to trauma to limit possibility of it becoming PTSD? EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a form of acupressure that is self-applied and can be used for treating everything from stress and anxiety to phobias and PTSD. It is a technique that is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese medicine in that it uses the same meridians and acupressure points. It is easy to learn and simple to apply and works very rapidly. I was thinking about this topic very recently after there was very dangerous situation that local police officers found themselves in – where they had stopped a vehicle as part of a routine check and were then fired upon by

How Access Bars changed my life

My first experience of the Bars was in my first Bars class - I felt a great sense of peace and deep relaxation I hadn't experienced before. It also released trauma from my body and mind in relation to an accident I had 15 years ago - it came flooding up in waves of gentle tears and was washed away with the Bars. This experience was life changing - I felt invigorated, energised and so excited that I had just learnt a technique that I could share with others in my life and also with my clients. 2 years after that class I am now a qualified Bars Facilitator so I can now teach the Bars Class. I have been having my Bars run every week for most of 2017 (about 8 months) which allows me to be fully present in my life and have an ease, joy and flow in my life that I have never had before. Sometimes the changes I experienced with the Bars were small and subtle but now I look back to what my life looked like 2 years ago - the change over this time is huge, dynamic and phenomenal - what wou

Hope in the face of suicide

Suicide is a modern epidemic which is much talked about but often fills us with despair at the thought that nothing much can be done to prevent it. The modern lifestyle fools us into thinking that to be happy we must be successful and have things to make us happy. We think when I get the perfect job, or house or relationship then I’ll be happy. but unfortunately, the world doesn’t work that way. You need to be happy with yourself first and foremost but how do we do it? I would like to share Dain’s story as an example of someone seriously contemplating suicide and how he was able to turn it around. Dain says “I had gotten to a point where I had everything that was supposed to make a person happy – and it had absolutely no value to me. I had tried every single modality for inner peace I could find, but I was still dying inside. I was so deeply unhappy I was considering suicide. I even set a date. I gave the Universe six months to change my life”. “What no one knew was how mise

EFT Tapping and Access Consciousness Tools – a powerful combination.

Often, we are taught tools or techniques that may help us but how often do we actually use them? We forget them after a time, then we think – how do I do that again? However, if we take tools in their simplest form and combine them with other simple energetic techniques we create a heightened synergy and then we create something greater as if by magic. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a simple process of tapping on various end points of meridians on our face, torso and hands and is combined with affirmations and repeated verbal phrases.  Access Consciousness uses loads of tools – but one of the simplest is asking questions. When we ask a question without the aim of answering it, it opens us up to other possibilities in our life. If we tap on the EFT points and repeat a question while we tap on each point it can lead to an awareness of a possibility with that area we are asking about.  For example; a great question to ask is ‘How does it get any better than this?’ – we can
